DC Notice of Intent to File Lien

DC contractors, preserve your lien rights - before you can file a lien claim for labor or materials supplied for improvements to a property, you must first file and serve this Notice of Intent to File Lien.

The Notice to File Lien is made in accordance with Section 40-301 of the District of Columbia Code.
The form includes the required affidavit, a Certificate of Delivery, and a copy of the section of the Code outlining the procedure for filing a lien statement.
