New Mexico Statutory Power of Attorney

New Mexico residents, plan for the future and protect your interests with this Statutory Power of Attorney, in accordance with the Uniform Statutory Form Power of Attorney Act, Chapter 45, Article 5, Part 6, NMSA 1978.

The Power of Attorney is effective immediately unless you state otherwise. You can give your attorney-in-fact the power to conduct your personal affairs, including:
  • your real estate property,
  • banking and financial transactions,
  • stocks and bonds,
  • personal property,
  • insurance,
  • retirement plans and social security,
  • employment benefits,
  • tax and legal matters,
  • your business affairs and operations.
The Power of Attorney also gives your attorney the authority to make health care or other medical decisions for you.

This New Mexico Statutory Power of Attorney template is available in MS Word format, and is easy to fill in and print. No need to buy additional copies - you and your spouse can each prepare a Power of Attorney with this form.
