Vocalist Recording Contract in Favor of Artist

Record producers, use this template to prepare a non-exclusive Vocalist Recording Contract between a record company and a vocalist being hired to perform on a number of recordings. This contract is written in favor of the artist.

The vocalist is free to record elsewhere as well, but agrees not to perform any of the songs being recorded under the contract for any other party.
The vocalist is at liberty to choose the material being recorded.
The vocalist will be paid a royalty on 90% of all record sales, after deducting the costs of recording, production, distribution and promotion.
